HOSTEL RULES & REGULATIONS

Some important rules observed in the hostel to maintain discipline are stated below:-
  • Ragging and Bullying are strictly prohibited. Any student indulging in activities which are likely to affect the other students or discipline of the school or hostel will be rusticated immediately without prior notice.
  • The hostel ward is not allowed to move out of the campus on her own under any circumstances herself. The school is not responsible for any untoward incident like missing etc. due to violation of the rules.
  • The House Mother examines all the correspondence received or sent out by the student.
  • The students are allowed to meet or correspond only with those who have been authorized by the parents/guardian in writing in the hostel form.
  • Phone is installed in the hostel to facilitate student to receive phone call only from the Parents on fixed schedule. Parents are expected to co-operate in maintaining the time schedule.
  • Cell phones are strictly prohibited.
  • The students are not allowed to keep any valuable jewellery, electrical appliances, electronic items, cameras, medicines or any other risky article which affect the safety of the ward. School is not responsible for loss of any valuables.
  • The students are not allowed to receive or to keep heavy cash with them except the pocket money they are given every month. The parent/guardians are requested to send all remittances to the school office with instructions for their use.
  • Parents or guardians are not permitted to meet the students directly in the hostel without the permission of the House Mother / Chief Warden.
  • All the students are expected to dress up properly and neatly and to help maintain their rooms and surrounding clean and tidy.
  • The students are not allowed to take things on credit from the tuck-shop. The guardians are advised to keep sufficient fund for the purpose with the school office.
  • The students must rejoin in time after long holidays and must not remain absent. The names of all those students who do not reach school on the first working day of the school, after the vacation, will be struck off and seats will be allotted to the candidates on the waiting list.
  • The students should put their student I.D. number on all their clothes and articles and submit a list of the same to the House Mother or Matron to avoid loss.
  • The students are not allowed to borrow money or clothes from any other student.
  • If the hostel ward is hospitalized, the parents are informed immediately. The parents will not be informed of minor ailments of the girl as long as she is admitted to the school MI room.
  • Parents need not supply medicines to the students unless in special cases with intimation to the House Mother or the Principal.
  • Under special cases, prescribed medicines along with a copy of prescription are allowed with MI Room in-charge under the intimation to the Housemother/AHM/Matron. The decision of the Medical Supervisor is final in such cases.
  • The parents are requested not to send food parcels to the students. In case it is sent, the contents of the parcel will be distributed among the inmates of the hostel.
  • The parents and guardians are not permitted to visit their wards during school hours.
  • School Calendar and Circulars regarding long holidays (in winter during the month of December and in Summer during the month of May and June) in full detail are sent to the parents and guardians in advance and they are expected to go through it carefully and act accordingly.
  • The girls are not allowed to go out till an authority letter from the parent is produced with the signature of the escort attested by the parent.
  • Relatives or family friends will not be allowed to meet the students unless they have proper authority letter from parents.
  • Newly admitted students need time to adjust themselves in the new environment in the hostel. Therefore, parents/ guardians are requested not to visit their children or send relatives, till the children have settled down in a month or two.
  • Students are expected to observe the hostel rules. Misconduct or misbehavior in the hostel will be brought to the notice of the Principal. Any student indulging in activities, which are likely to affect the discipline of the hostel, may be expelled from the hostel and the school. The decision of the Principal will be final in such cases.
  • The parents and guardians intending to withdraw their wards are requested to give a fortnight’s notice in advance and collect the entire luggage within a month of withdrawal after applying for T.C. After one month their right of claiming the luggage will cease unless a special permission is sought.
  • It is mandatory for the parents to meet the subject teacher /class teacher / hostel in-charge on their visit to school to know the progress and discipline of the student.
  • XII class board appearing students need to vacate the hostel room within two days of their culmination of exam along-with all their belongings, no claims thereafter will be dealt by the hostel I/C’s.
  • Birthday celebration is strictly prohibited in hostel during late night. Parents can celebrate their ward’s birthday only in the visitor room at the hostel gate.
